The Huron County Board of Elections has always been and continues to be committed in providing the most fair and efficient elections possible.  We need to share the responsibility of our commitment with approximately 200 Precinct Election Officials (PEOs).  By serving as a PEO you get a chance to give back to your community, meet others from Huron County and preserve the democratic process. 

Requirements:

  • You must be a registered voter in Huron County.
  • You must be able to work for the entire election day.
    • A standard working Election Day begins at 5:30 am and ends at approximately 8:00/8:30 pm.
  • Must have reliable transportation to ensure your arrival at your assigned polling location no later than 5:30 a.m. on election day.
  • You must be willing to attend a training session, in which you will be compensated.

Compensation:

  • Precinct Election Officials (PEOs) are paid $135 for Election Day.
  • Voting Location Managers (VLMs)and Assistant Voting Location Managers (VLMs) are paid $135 and an additional $10 for Election Day.  
  • All Precinct Election Officials, Voting Location Managers and Assistants attending a training session will receive $15 for the time spent in the training session.
